Vale Road Daytime Closures/Flagging in Oakton June 5-8
Stormwater pipe replacement
OAKTON – Vale Road (Route 672) between West Ox Road (Route 608) and Fox Mill Road (Route 665) will have stormwater pipe replacement work, weather permitting, Monday, June 5 through Thursday, June 8, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The first pipe being replaced is located between Cobb Hill Lane and Foxvale Drive; this section of Vale Road will be closed to through traffic Monday, June 5 between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and will have one lane of alternating traffic via flagging Tuesday, June 6 between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The second pipe is located between Vale Station Road and Hickory Hills Drive; this section of Vale Road will be closed to through traffic Wednesday, June 7 between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and will have one lane of alternating traffic via flagging Thursday, June 8 between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Those needing to reach properties along Vale Road will have access; however, traffic will not be able to go beyond the points of pipe replacement (the first pipe is adjacent to 11730 Vale Road and the second pipe is adjacent to 12130 Vale Road) in either direction.
On Monday and Wednesday, through traffic will be detoured via West Ox Road, Bennett Road and Fox Hill Road back to Vale Road. Drivers are asked to follow posted detour signs.
