Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Tomorrow Night, January 28, and January 30 – February 3 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Monday night, January 30
Ramp from Route 28 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for roadway work. Traffic will be directed to Route 29 (Lee Highway) South (prior to the closed ramp), stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, then continue for about one mile and follow signs to I-66 East.
Monday, January 30, through Wednesday, February 1
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North.
Monday night, January 30, through Friday night, February 3
Ramp from Braddock Road/Walney Road to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed nightly from midnight to 4 a.m. for noise wall work. Traffic will be detoured farther south to Route 29 North, stay right to Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Monday night, January 30, through Friday night, February 3
Ramps from I-66 East to Route 286 North and South
The ramps will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for noise wall work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 50 West, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 286 North or South. Note: This closure will not be implemented when the closure conflicts with other detours.
Monday night, January 30
Ramp from Route 286 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for work on the shared-use path. Traffic will be directed to I-66 East, exit to Route 50 West, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West. Note: This closure will not be implemented when the closure conflicts with other detours.
Monday night, January 30, through Wednesday night, February 1
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed each night from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Tuesday night, January 31
Ramp from Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge. Traffic will be directed to I-66 West (prior to the closure), exit to Route 50 East, then stay left to I-66 East.
Wednesday night, February 1
Ramp from Route 123 North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther north to White Granite Drive, stay to the left and make a U-turn onto Route 123 South, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Thursday night, February 2
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 50 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier removal. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 123 North, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 123 North, stay right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 50 West.
Thursday, February 2, and Friday, February 3
Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 North
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to I-495 South, take the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, then stay to the right following signs to I-495 North.
Friday night, February 3
Ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther south to the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, stay to the right following signs to I-495 North and I-66, then follow signs to I-66 West.
