Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges March 20-25 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Monday night, March 20, and Tuesday night, March 21
Ramp from Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier reset. Traffic will be directed to I-66 East, exit to Route 50 West, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.
Monday night, March 20, through Friday night, March 24
I-66 East C-D Lane at Route 286
Ramps from I-66 East to Route 286 North and South
A portion of the I-66 East collector-distributor lane and the ramps will be closed nightly from midnight to 4 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 50 West, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 286 North or South.
Monday, March 20, through Friday, March 24
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed each night from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Monday, March 20, through Saturday, March 25
Ramp from I-66 West to Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramp will be closed nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to Route 28 North, travel to the Westfields Boulevard Interchange. Drivers heading to Braddock Road will take the exit to Westfields Boulevard West, then continue to Braddock Road. Drivers traveling to Walney Road will take the exit to Westfields Boulevard East, then turn right onto Walney Road.
Wednesday, March 22
Ramp from Virginia Center Boulevard to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. for light pole installation. Drivers will be directed to continue east on Virginia Center Boulevard to Nutley Street. At the traffic signal, turn right onto Nutley Street South, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.
Wednesday, March 22, and Thursday, March 23
Ramp from Braddock Road/Walney Road to Route 28 South
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for sign work. Traffic will be directed to Westfields Boulevard to reach Route 28 South.
Wednesday, March 22, and Thursday, March 23
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 South
The ramp will be closed both nights from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. for sign work. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 29 (Lee Highway) Centreville, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 North, then follow signs to Route 28 South.
Wednesday night, March 22, through Friday night, March 24
Ramp from Route 50 East to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier removal, concrete work, and bridge inspection. Traffic will be directed farther east, stay to the left and use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Waples Mill Road, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East.
Thursday night, March 23
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 50 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge inspection. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road), stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 123 North, stay to the right to I-66 West, and then follow signs to Route 50 West.
