Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges April 3- 6 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Monday night, April 3, through Thursday night, April 6
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for noise wall work. Traffic will be detoured prior to the closure to Route 28 South, then follow signs to Route 29 North or South.
Monday, April 3, and Tuesday, April 4
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North
Ramp from I-66 West to Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramps will be closed both nights from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, to Route 29 North, then stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North. Drivers headed to Braddock Road/Walney Road will then stay left and follow signs to that exit.
Monday, April 3, and Tuesday, April 4
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North.
Tuesday, April 4, and Wednesday, April 5
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther south, exit to Route 29 South, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Wednesday, April 5, and Thursday, April 6
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther south to Route 29 North, stay right to Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Thursday night, April 6
Ramp from Route 286 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be directed to the ramp to I-66 West, stay right to the ramp to Route 286 South, then stay right to I-66 East.
Tuesday night, April 4, through Thursday night, April 6
Ramp from Route 286 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier removal and guardrail installation. Traffic will be directed to I-66 East, exit to Route 50 West, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.
Thursday night, April 6
Ramps from I-66 East to Route 286 North and South
I-66 East C-D Lane at Route 286
The ramps and the eastbound collector-distributor lane will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 50 West, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 286 North or South.
Tuesday night, April 4, through Thursday night, April 6
Ramp from Route 50 East to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for concrete work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east, stay to the left and use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Waples Mill Road onto Route 50 West, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.
Monday night, April 3
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 50 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for guardrail installation. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Route 286 South, stay to the right to I-66 East, then follow signs to Route 50 West.
Monday, April 3, through Wednesday, April 5
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed each night from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Monday night, April 3, and Tuesday night, April 4
Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 North
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to I-495 South, take the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, then stay to the right following signs to I-495 North.
