ROUTE 653 (CARYS BRIDGE ROAD) CULVERT WORK IN SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY COMPLETED
All lanes reopened, temporary signal removed

SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY – All lanes have reopened on Route 653 (Carys Bridge Road) following the completion of culvert restoration work by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The temporary traffic signal has been removed, and lanes in both directions are open to traffic.

The work occurred approximately one mile north of the Route 609 (Popes Station Road) intersection and was necessary to extend the lifespan of the existing culvert.
